A creamy, protein-packed chocolate and vanilla swirl mousse made from blended cottage cheese, offering a healthy balance of indulgence and nutrition.

Ingredients

Scale

2 Cups Cottage Cheese
4 Tablespoons Maple Syrup or Honey
1 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
2 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
0.5 Cup Fresh Berries
1 Tablespoon Dark Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  1. Place your high-speed blender or food processor on a stable counter and ensure the blades are clean and dry
  2. Add the two cups of cottage cheese into the blender and blend for 60 to 90 seconds until the curds disappear completely and the liquid is glossy
  3. Pour in the maple syrup and vanilla extract, then blend for another 10 seconds to incorporate the flavors
  4. If creating two flavors, pour half of the mixture into a separate bowl and add cocoa powder to the remaining mixture in the blender, blending until rich brow
  5. Transfer the mixtures into individual serving bowls or mason jars and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the dessert to set
  6. Right before serving, garnish each bowl with fresh berries and dark chocolate chips

Notes

Full-fat cottage cheese provides the creamiest results, though low-fat can be used.

If the mixture is too thick to blend, add 1 tablespoon of almond milk to help the blades move.

Do not freeze this dessert as it will become grainy upon thawing.

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days.
