A quick and versatile homemade condiment that balances floral honey sweetness with a spicy kick of red pepper and tangy apple cider vinegar, perfect for salads, roasted vegetables, or as a pizza dip.

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 Cup Raw Honey
1/3 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
3 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Tablespoon Dijon Mustard
1 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Sea Salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the raw honey, extra virgin olive oil, and apple cider vinegar in a small glass jar with a tight-fitting lid
  2. Add the Dijon mustard, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and sea salt to the jar
  3. Secure the lid tightly and shake the jar vigorously for 30 seconds until the ingredients are fully blended into a golden amber hue
  4. Taste the dressing and adjust with an extra pinch of salt or red pepper flakes if more heat is desired
  5. Let the dressing sit for at least 10 minutes before serving to allow the spice from the red pepper flakes to infuse into the liquid

Notes

Use room temperature honey for easier blending; if honey is crystallized, microwave it for 10 seconds first.

Olive oil may solidify in the refrigerator; set the jar on the counter for 15 minutes or run under warm water before using.

For a vegan alternative, swap the honey for an equal amount of pure maple syrup.

The dressing can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three weeks.

Always shake the jar again right before pouring as homemade dressings tend to separate over time.
