A sophisticated hot honey pizza that balances salty pepperoni, creamy mozzarella, and a spicy-sweet honey drizzle for a gourmet home-cooked meal that is accessible for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb Pizza Dough
0.5 cup Pizza Sauce
8 oz Fresh Mozzarella
3 oz Pepperoni Slices
3.5 tbsp Hot Honey
0.25 cup Fresh Basil
2 tbsp Parmesan Cheese
1 tbsp Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone or heavy baking sheet inside to ensure a crispy crust
  2. On a floured surface, stretch the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle, leaving the edges slightly thicker
  3. Spread a thin, even layer of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving an inch of space for the crust
  4. Distribute the fresh mozzarella cheese evenly across the sauce
  5. Layer the pepperoni slices on top of the cheese
  6. Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated stone or sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbling
  7. Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately drizzle the hot honey over the entire surface
  8. Garnish with torn fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese before slicing and serving hot

Notes

Do not drizzle the honey before baking, as it can burn or become too thin; always apply it fresh out of the oven.

Use 'cup and char' pepperoni for best results as they catch the honey in their centers.

For a vegetarian version, swap meat for roasted red peppers or caramelized onions.

Reheat leftovers in a dry skillet or air fryer to maintain crust crispness.
