This hot honey salmon balances a gentle heat with a deep, floral sweetness. The honey caramelizes under the broiler, creating a sticky crust that locks in moisture for a quick, restaurant-quality weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale

4 6 oz Salmon Fillets
3 tablespoons Hot Honey
1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
2 cloves Fresh Garlic
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
0.5 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
To taste Salt
To taste Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and season lightly with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the hot honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and lemon juice to create the glaze
  4. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet skin-side down and brush about half of the glaze generously over the tops and sides of the fish
  5. Bake the salmon for 10 to 12 minutes in the center rack of the ove
  6. Remove the tray and brush the remaining glaze over the fish
  7. Turn the broiler to high and place the salmon back in for about 2 minutes until the glaze bubbles and chars slightly at the edges
  8. Remove from oven once the salmon flakes easily with a fork

Notes

To make this gluten-free, ensure you use coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.

Salmon is perfectly cooked at an internal temperature of 145°F, but can be pulled at 135°F for a more tender texture after resting.

If you don't have store-bought hot honey, mix 3 tablespoons of regular honey with 0.5 teaspoon of red chili flakes.
