Description

This quick and easy kofta kebab recipe shows you how to cook flavorful beef, lamb, or chicken kofta in an air fryer—no grill needed! Juicy, tender, and perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef, lamb, or chicken (80/20 preferred for beef/lamb)

  • 1 small onion, grated

  • 23 garlic cloves, minced

  • ½ cup chopped fresh parsley

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1 tsp coriander

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp allspice or cinnamon

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • Optional: 1 egg yolk or 1 tbsp breadcrumbs (as a binder)

  • Optional: olive oil spray for crisping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing.

  2. Shape mixture into 8 kofta kebabs—either on skewers or into oblong logs.

  3. Chill shaped kebabs in the fridge for 15–30 minutes to help them firm up.

  4. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (or 380°F for chicken) for 3 minutes.

  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket and arrange kebabs in a single layer.

  6. Air fry for 10–12 minutes (beef/lamb) or 12–14 minutes (chicken), flipping halfway.

  7. Check that the internal temperature is at least 160°F (beef/lamb) or 165°F (chicken).

  8. Let rest for a few minutes and serve hot with your favorite dip or side.

Notes

  • Ground turkey or lean chicken may need extra binders.

  • Mix in feta or mozzarella for stuffed kofta variation.

  • Serve with flatbread, tzatziki, or over a salad bowl.

  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days.
