Discover how to make vibrant, customizable, and genuinely delicious homemade Lotus energy drinks. This recipe offers sustained energy without artificial jitters, using plant-based concentrates and real fruit purées, making it a healthier and more budget-friendly alternative to store-bought options.

Ingredients

Scale

0.5-1 fl oz Lotus Plant-Based Energy Concentrate
2-3 tablespoons Fruit Purée or Syrup
12-16 fl oz Carbonated Water
1-2 teaspoons Sweetener (Optional)
Plenty Ice
Fresh fruit slices, berries, a sprig of mint, or edible flowers Garnish (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Fruit Purée: If using fresh or frozen fruit, blend about ½ cup of fruit with 1-2 tablespoons of water (or to desired consistency) until smooth. For a very smooth drink, strain the purée through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds or pulp. If using fruit syrup, you can skip this step
  2. Fill Your Glass with Ice: Grab a tall, clear glass (about 16-20 oz) and fill it generously with ice cubes. More ice means a colder, more refreshing drink that stays chilled longer
  3. Add Fruit Purée/Syrup: Pour 2-3 tablespoons of your chosen fruit purée or syrup over the ice. Adjust this amount based on your desired sweetness and fruit intensity
  4. Pour in Lotus Concentrate: Measure 1-2 pumps (about 0.5 – 1 fl oz) of your preferred Lotus plant-based energy concentrate directly over the fruit layer. The colors will start to look beautiful
  5. Add Sweetener (Optional): If you like a sweeter drink, add 1-2 teaspoons of agave nectar, simple syrup, or your chosen sweetener at this stage
  6. Top with Carbonated Water: Slowly fill the rest of the glass with carbonated water. Pouring slowly helps create those beautiful layers and prevents too much fizzing over. Leave a little room at the top
  7. Gently Stir: Using a long spoon or a stir stick, gently stir all the ingredients together until well combined. Watch the colors swirl into a vibrant, delicious concoctio
  8. Garnish and Enjoy: Add a fresh fruit slice, a few berries, or a sprig of mint for an elegant touch. Serve immediately and savor your homemade energy boost!

Notes

For a striking, layered look, add ingredients in this order: fruit purée/syrup, then ice, then Lotus concentrate, then gently pour carbonated water over the back of a spoon.

Always use very cold carbonated water and pre-chilled fruit purées to keep your drink from becoming watered down and ensure maximum refreshment.

Adjust sweetness to taste; Lotus concentrates have some sweetness, and fruit purées vary in sugar content, so taste your drink before adding extra sweetener.

High-quality or larger ice cubes melt slower, keeping your drink colder and less diluted for longer.

Muddle fresh mint leaves, basil, or a few slices of lime/cucumber at the bottom of your glass for an extra burst of aromatic flavor.

Pre-batch larger quantities of your favorite fruit purées and store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days, or freeze in ice cube trays for longer storage.

Experiment with ratios of Lotus to fruit to carbonation to find your ideal balance; the 'perfect' ratio is truly personal.

Stir just enough to combine the ingredients once the carbonated water is added; over-stirring can flatten the carbonation.

For a fun touch, moisten the rim of your glass and dip it in sugar, colored sugar, or finely crushed freeze-dried fruit.

Lotus energy drinks are best enjoyed fresh and immediately after preparation, as carbonation will go flat and ice will melt if stored assembled for too long.

Store pre-batched fruit purées in the refrigerator or freezer, and keep Lotus concentrate in a cool, dark place according to manufacturer's instructions.

Always use fresh, fizzy carbonated water, ensuring the cap is tightly sealed to preserve the fizz.
